Elisabeth Hasselbeck Addresses That Recording Of Her Threatening To Leave ‘The View’

An audio recording in which she threatens to leave The View at the time she was still on the show has surfaced and now Elisabeth Hasselbeck is addressing it! Here’s what she had to say!

As you may know, the audio file was released by Variety earlier today and the woman took to social media to defend herself soon after.

The recording is from back in August of 2006 and the incident that plays out is also detailed in Ramin Setoodeh’s new book titled: Ladies Who Punch: The Explosive Inside Story of The View.

The whole incident started from a talk about the morning-after pill.

While discussing it on air, Barbara Walters shot down the passionate Hasselbeck, arguing: ‘We have to learn how to discuss this kind of things in some sort of rational way.’

That is when Hasselbeck can be heard shouting: ‘f**k that,’ before storming off mid-show.

While she did end up returning to the live taping in the end, at first, she refused to go back and ‘get reprimanded.’

Earlier today, the woman defended herself in a post on Instagram, writing ‘I am quite humanly reactive. I used bad words when frustrated. I was pregnant with Taylor and a conversation about the value and lives of the unborn was taking place at The View. I used fighting words because I believe God decides the value of the lives of babies.’

She went on to explain her point of view about when life starts saying: ‘We care for Robin’s eggs in a nest before they’re hatched and would likely think twice before stomping on the blue shells because we know what God placed inside. And in the heat of the moment, when I felt the need to protect what I knew to be true and had seen with my eyes on ultrasound the LIFE in my own shell of a body- I used big battle words.’
