Essay Prompts for Elite College Applications

AKA Pay to Play!

As Daddy always says, just pay to make the problem go away!

1.) Tell us about a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did your wealthy parents make that problem go away?

2.) Discuss an impressive accomplishment that ignited a period of personal growth for you, regardless of whether you were the one who accomplished it.

3.) Describe a person in your life that you consider a role model. It could be a teacher, a community leader, or an affluent celebrity with political influence. How has this person shaped who you are today?

4.) Recount a time in your life when you were held accountable for your actions. If you can’t think of one, recount a time when you blamed someone else for your own shortcomings.

5.) Describe a problem that exists in society. It can be a social issue, an ethical dilemma, or a pending racketeering charge against your lacrosse coach. How can you distance yourself from that issue to avoid repercussions affecting your scholastic future?

6.) Other than extensive privilege, tell us about a personal trait that sets you apart from your peers.

7.) Reflect on a time when you questioned or challenged a belief or idea. What were you thinking? Why would you do something that stupid?

8.) Write about the role that a certain activity (sports, debate team, art, etc.) has had on your life. How might your life have changed had you actually participated in this activity?

9.) Your mom was on that tv show back in the ’90s, right? Do you have a photo of her from that time? Maybe one where she doesn’t have her arm around your dad?

10.) Please type the characters that appear below, to prove you’re not a robot or part of an FBI sting.
