Vicky Pattison grovels to Michelle McManus after fat-shaming comments

Vicky Pattison has sent a grovelling apology after being accused of fat-shaming by Michelle McManus.

The Pop Idol winner took to Twitter on Thursday to hit out at Geordie Shore star Vicky.

The 31-year-old complained on Instagram earlier this week after being body-shamed following her sister’s wedding.

Michelle took to Twitter to write to her 24,300 followers: “Yes Vicky Pattison because you’ve never publicly body-shamed anyone have you? Oh wait…”

“I cannot apologise enough if my comments caused upset or hurt.”

Fans were quick to congratulate Michelle on her dig, with one writing: “What a horrible person! Well done for calling her out.”

Another commented: “She can only dream of being as talented as you! Get her told Michelle!”

Now, Vicky has spoken to MailOnline about Michelle’s tweet, apologising for her previous comments.

The former Queen of the Jungle said: “There are a lot of things I did five years ago that I’m not proud of, and to be honest, I wouldn’t even recognise the girl I was back then.

“I cannot apologise enough if my comments caused upset or hurt. I can guarantee even then it was not my intention, just my ignorance. I hope you can accept my apology.”

Michelle’s frustration came after Vicky attended her sister’s wedding and was made the subject of cruel comments.

She posted to her 4.1m Instagram followers: “I’m sorry to whinge and have to post this but I’ve had enough of s**tty articles, online bullies, body-shaming, trolling and negativity! And I’m hoping this will silence everything.”

Her lengthy statement went on to say: “The implication that I would somehow try and steal the limelight from [my sister] on her big day has hurt me so much. To add insult to injury I’m now being body-shamed over some unflattering pap pics and I can’t believe we’re still on this hype in 2019.

“I’m off to drink tequila and tell every woman I see that I think she’s smart, funny, pretty and important…I hope you all understand where I’m coming from here — and appreciate my honesty and are not just bored t*tless of my endless Instagram crusading.”

Vicky signed off: “Sending love, lols and kindness from Mexico and hoping some of it reaches all trolls and t*ts a like.”

Michelle is yet to reply to the apology on her social media channels.
