Courteney Cox’s relationship with Johnny McDaid is so strong and amiable that she already feels they’re married. When Cox and McDaid were at the Irish Arts Center Spirit Of Ireland Gala over the weekend in New York City, the couple spoke about their coupling status.
Even though the programming for the night stated she would attend with her “husband” – despite not being married – Courteney said it feels that way anyway, with McDaid adding that “husband” was merely a label.
The 54-year-old actress told reporters from People Magazine that “I’m married in my heart,” after admitting they didn’t actually tie the knot. When asked if they were would ever make it official, McDaid said they share a special morning every day, so it’s not necessary.
“She’s my best friend, my partner, in everything,” the Snow Patrol artist explained. They also dished on how they go about spending the holidays together. “We just get together and see what happens,” McDaid explained and added her 14-year-old daughter comes over and hangs out sometimes as well.
As fans of the couple know, they started dating in January 2014 and were engaged just half-a-year later, but ended up quitting in the final months of 2015.
In April 2016, however, they reunited. McDaid told the publication previously that he isn’t sure how to go about labeling their romance, but it’s clear it works, and he loves her.
When Courteney spoke with NewBeauty magazine one year ago, the actress said she would definitely have a baby with him. If Courteney were to get married to McDaid, it would mark her second since separating from David Arquette in 2010.
In June 2012, Arquette told the press he and Cox were officiating their split, after filing his divorce papers officially in a court of law. In May of 2013, their divorce finalized.
